Pricing and Booking
Money questions first, because they're the ones people are least sure about. Everything below is how we work on every job:
Call (07) 3523 6428What does a call-out fee cost?
Every job comes with $0 call-out fees, any hour of any day, so the only money on the table is for the repair itself, never just for turning up at your place.
How is the price worked out?
We use flat-rate pricing with no hidden fees, and you get a fixed quote before any work starts, so the figure you approve is the figure you pay for the job.
How can I pay when the work is done?
You can pay on site by card or EFTPOS when the job's finished, or ask us about Fix now, pay later if you would rather spread the cost out.
Is the price different on weekends?
No, because there's no extra cost for nights, weekends or public holidays, and the call-out stays at zero, so a Sunday-night burst costs the same as a Tuesday-morning drip here.
Services and Repairs
The four questions below cover most of what we're asked about day-to-day work. Each answer links back to the fuller page on that service:
Call (07) 3523 6428Do you fix leaking taps and running toilets?
Yes, tap repairs and toilet repairs are core work, from a worn mixer cartridge to a cistern refilling by itself, and the common parts for 2000s-era fittings come on the van.
Do you clear blocked drains?
Yes, blocked drains, sewers and stormwater lines are all in a day's work, and plenty of lots here back onto the Lake Eden parklands, where roots find the drain joints.
Do you repair and replace hot water systems?
Yes, we repair and replace them, and because most homes here went up through the 2000s, the original storage tanks are at or past their usual life, so we plan for that.
Do you do gas fitting?
Yes, gas fitting covers heater and cooktop connections, bayonet fittings, appliance servicing and compliance certificates, all carried out through the gasfitting stream of our QBCC licence for North Lakes homes.
Emergencies and After Hours
When water is moving or something smells wrong, the answers change shape. Here is what to know before you dial:
Call (07) 3523 6428What counts as a plumbing emergency?
Water you can't stop, sewage inside the house, a hot water tank letting go or a gas smell all count, and our emergency plumbing page breaks down each type around the estate.
What should I do about a burst pipe?
Turn the water off at the meter first, then call (07) 3523 6428, because a braided flexi hose that splits in a 2000s house can run for hours if nobody's home to stop it.
Who handles a sewage overflow?
Unitywater handles spills on public land and blockages affecting several properties, while the stretch serving one house is yours, so a single-home blockage is a job for us.
Are you available on public holidays?
Yes, we're available 24/7, 7 days a week, and there's no extra charge for nights, weekends or public holidays, so a holiday problem costs the same as any other.
North Lakes Conditions
The estate's own ground and weather shape several answers. These four come from the local conditions we work with:
Call (07) 3523 6428Who owns which pipes?
Unitywater looks after the public sewer and water mains under the street, while the pipes on the property side of the connection belong to you as the owner to maintain.
Does the soil affect drains here?
Parts of the north and east sit on coastal plain the state soil atlas maps as seasonally saturated, so drain trenches stay damp and groundwater can work into the joints.
Does storm season affect the drains?
From November to March the thunderstorms roll through, and council's mapped flow paths send roof water and mulch toward gully pits, so a poorly graded drain surcharges at the pit.
How do I book a plumber?
Call (07) 3523 6428, tell us what's happening and where in the estate, and we set a time with same-day when we can and the quote in writing before any work starts.
